Reasonable Accommodation in the Workplace

This half day workshop offers practical advice using real examples to those responsible for dealing with accommodation workplace issues, either for an employer or union. Human rights facilitators help navigate the tricky road to reasonable accommodation and discuss the key legal elements of the duty to accommodate and how to respond to requests for accommodation.

Opening Doors to Rental Rights

New and seasoned landlords will benefit from this half day workshop which explains The Human Rights Code and how it applies to rental situations. Topics will include how to create effective advertising that is non discriminatory; assess selection processes to ensure they are not discriminatory; and address accommodation requests.

Mental Health Issues in the Workplace

The half day session deals with such topics as: what a mental disability is under The Human Rights Code; your obligations as an employer; what information is needed from medical practitioners; what are the obligations of both parties; and the benefits of having a reasonable accommodation policy. Real case studies make up a large part of the session. Please note that Reasonable Accommodation in the Workplace is a prerequisite for this course.
